A buttocks lift is an exciting procedure that can provide a fantastic boost to the backside and lateral thighs. Laxity of the tissue in these areas is corrected through the removal of loose skin, creating firm and youthful-looking contours. The final incision created with this procedure is closed with delicate, dissolving sutures that leave the finest scar. The results of your butt lift and augmentation are highly gratifying, especially for H/K/B patients who are frustrated with drooping and sagging of the backside due to aging, weight loss, or a natural lack of volume and skin firmness.
Autologous Buttocks Augmentation
This procedure can be performed alongside a butt lift to create an augmented appearance. This procedure is particularly helpful for patients who lack volume in the area or where the majority of their buttock volume lies within the excess skin and tissue to be removed. We offer two types of augmentation: the autologous flap and the pursestring gluteoplasty.
With the autologous flap, the buttock padding is lifted to a more youthful position and is sutured into place. During a pursestring gluteoplasty, a suture is placed around the circumference of each buttock pad and is tightened to provide the desired projection. The result with both of these procedures is a lifted, more natural and youthful contour. The method that is right for you is determined during your consultation.
Brazilian Butt Lift
The Brazilian butt lift isn’t just for people who feel their butts are flat or deflated, and it isn’t just for people who want to look like Jennifer Lopez or Kim Kardashian. The majority of people who opt for this procedure do so because the soft tissue around the buttocks and outer thighs has drooped. The result of a BBL is a youthful contour in proportion with the rest of the body.
At H/K/B, we perform the Brazilian butt lift using fat grafts from your own body. It’s a great way to sculpt one part of the body while enhancing another.
The techniques we use during a BBL were developed by our surgeons and have been performed frequently to help patients meet their cosmetic body goals.
The buttocks are lifted and smoothed to achieve the outcome you want. This procedure provides a lift in position and a boost in volume. Patients can also enjoy the benefits of slimmer body contours in other areas, while their backside looks firmer and rounder.
A buttock implant gives you the perky curves you have always wanted, without using liposuction techniques. Patients who want improved curves or who simply feel their buttocks are too flat can achieve the figure they want with implants.
In some cases, fat grafts or techniques such as autologous buttocks augmentation may be sufficient. For others, an implant will provide the result they want.
Butt implants may be recommended for patients who do not have sufficient excess fat to be harvested and re-injected for fat grating or BBL.
At H/K/B, when we insert a buttock implant, we also remove any lax skin from the buttocks and perform fat grafting as necessary to further contour the buttocks and ensure the implant cannot be seen through the skin.
What can I expect during surgery?
The procedure is usually performed using general anesthesia at our fully accredited surgical facility on our beautiful campus, where our highly qualified nurses will pamper you. Our nurses are certified in advanced cardiac life support, which ensures the highest level of supervision, evaluation, and care in the unlikely event of an emergency. We also work only with board-certified anesthesiologists.
Incisions are made under the buttocks crease where they will remain hidden. A soft silicone implant is inserted, which will feel firm but natural to the touch.
Liposuction is used in an area with excess fat such as the abdomen, thighs, flanks, or hips. Through a small incision, a tube called a cannula is inserted and attached to a suction device. The fat is extracted and then treated in a centrifuge. It can then be re-injected into the buttocks to (1) make sure the implant will be invisible and (2) contour the buttocks for the best possible shape.
At H/K/B, we use a new technique for fat grafting that causes less disruption to the harvested fat cells. What does this mean for you? More of the fat that is injected will “take,” which means that less of the fat will be absorbed by the body. When fat is absorbed, it sometimes causes the need for a second injection procedure. Our technique also allows us to perform fat grafting faster than in the past with less downtime for you.
How long does it take to recover from surgery?
You must sit very cautiously for the first few weeks. We generally recommend avoiding pressure on the buttocks for two weeks. You can return to work in about two weeks or when you’re comfortable. There will be swelling, bruising, and soreness in both the buttocks and the area where the fat was harvested for the grafts. Swelling may take up to six months to fully resolve, but we will give you a compression garment to wear that will help to keep swelling to a minimum.
Strenuous activities should be avoided for 4-6 weeks. Of course, we will monitor your progress, see you for follow-up examinations, and answer any questions you have during your recovery period.
