Less Invasive Facial Rejuvenatio n- FaceTite in Charlotte, NC

Facelift surgery is the gold standard in facial rejuvenation, offering dramatic results that last for years. Unfortunately, a facelift is an invasive procedure and some patients just aren’t ready or able to commit to the surgery or the downtime. If you want facelift results, without the facelift, ask us about FaceTite, a minimally invasive contouring solution for the face and small areas of the body.

FaceTite is a complete contouring solution that helps you achieve results similar to a facelift or brachioplasty without excisional surgery. This is a safe, effective and exciting treatment that offers patients significant aesthetic changes. Since it is much less invasive than other procedures, downtime and discomfort are significantly reduced.

We are excited to bring FaceTite to our patients in Charlotte, NC. This procedure is ideal for both men and women and can be safely used on all skin types. Learn more about FaceTite by calling us at 704-659-9000.

FaceTite Basics

FaceTite combats facial aging by targeting and treating the underlying causes of facial change. Shifting fat and loosening skin lead to jowls, sagging, and double chins. While a facelift uses excision to treat these problems, FaceTite treats them with a different, less invasive approach. It uses RFAL, short for radio-frequency assisted lipolysis, to coagulate fat and tighten tissues. FaceTite encourages collagen production, improving skin quality from within. It also removes excess fat for improved facial contours.

The FaceTite procedure is a surgical procedure but is much less invasive than the facelift. We start by making a small, inconspicuous incision. A small cannula is inserted into the incision and placed under the skin. Parallel with this internal cannula is an external transmitter. RF energy passes between the internal and external electrodes, creating a highly focused and controlled treatment zone. Additional incisions are created for each area treated.

Throughout the procedure, the device operator remains in complete control. They can regulate temperature to ensure the skin isn’t burnt or damaged. They can pinpoint treatment areas and depths. To ensure a stunning result for each patient, the FaceTite device offers audible feedback and safety controls.

FaceTite is designed for small treatment areas. Some patients will receive contouring in a singular facial area, like under the chin. Other patients will receive FaceTite treatment on the entire face, for a facelift equivalent result.

FaceTite Recovery

Our FaceTite patients are looking for quick and easy rejuvenation. They don’t have time for an extended recovery period and may be unable to miss more than a day or two of work. With FaceTite, recovery fits into a busy schedule. Patients return home the same day as their procedure. Downtime is very minimal, and many patients return to work in 1-2 days.

Common side effects during recovery include:

  • Swelling- Most dramatic in the first few days, residual swelling can remain for 1-2 weeks
  • Bruising- This side effect is temporary and usually resolves shortly after surgery
  • Redness- Post-procedure redness usually improves within the first day after treatment.
  • Numbness- Some patients experience mild numbness or tingling after treatment. This is a temporary side effect and will typically resolve within the first couple of weeks.
  • Simple aftercare following your procedure is important. We provide detailed instructions at the time of your procedure.

    • Use Sun Protection- The skin will be more sensitive to the sun immediately after FaceTite and throughout the healing process. Wear sunscreen every day and cover up if you’ll be spending time outdoors.
    • Wear the Protective Garment- Many FaceTite patients are asked to wear a compressive facial garment for a short period after the procedure. This garment covers portions of the face and head. For the first couple of days, you’ll need to wear this protective layer at all times. As you heal, it can be worn less frequently. This garment helps compress the healing tissues, reducing swelling.

Pain medications can be provided if needed to ensure a comfortable recovery experience.

Is FaceTite Safe?

FaceTite is one of the most advanced facial rejuvenation treatments available. Since it is less invasive, it reduces patient downtime and complications. General anesthesia isn’t used for the treatment. FaceTite has an excellent safety record and features many built-in safeguards including:

  • Real time measurements of skin temperature
  • Impedance monitoring
  • Power cut-off
  • Audible feedback

Patient safety is one of our primary concerns. Our board-certified plastic surgeons carefully evaluated this procedure for both safety and effectiveness before offering it at our practice. We love that it offers surgical quality results without the risk of an invasive surgery.

FaceTite or Facelift- Which Option Is Best for Me?

FaceTite results are comparable with more invasive, excisional procedures for many patients. However, it isn’t always the best option or the right fit.

We typically recommend FaceTite for patients that want to avoid surgery and require skin tightening. It works best on mild to moderate sagging. To achieve the best results, patients with severe sagging may require the skin removal that accompanies a facelift.

Our patients love both FaceTite and surgical facelifts. Each patient will need to sit down with their surgeon and discuss options. Call us to schedule a consultation before you make your final decision.
