Dr. Sarah Edwards is a native of Gatlinburg, TN who moved to Charlotte in 2016. A past Wendy’s High School Heisman winner who played basketball for legendary coach Pat Head Summit at the University of Tennessee she became interested in health and wellness at a young age. At the University of Tennessee she majored in Exercise Science and won the Lady Vol Torch Award for Scholastic Excellence. She went on to attend medical school at Quillen ETSU College of Medicine where she was inducted to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Societies. She then completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Wake Forest Baptist Health where she served as chief resident during her final year.
After graduation, she worked in many ER’s across North Carolina and Tennessee. Additionally, as part-time faculty, she helped teach several courses to first and second year medical students at Quillen ETSU College of Medicine. Dr. Edwards is currently working part-time for Novant in the Emergency Room in Matthews. She is fulfilling her passion by leading our wellness team. She is excited to bring her medical knowledge, love for teaching and coaching, and her passion for health together and share it with our HKB patients. Dr. Edwards has completed training in age management and wellness by Cenegics. In her spare time Dr. Edwards enjoys being a mom to three little girls.
