What Can Ultherapy Do for Me?

Do you need a lift? No, we’re not talking about a ride to the store, but rather, the kind of lift that almost everyone needs as the body ages. As you get older, facial skin starts to droop and sag. For many years, the only treatment was a facelift, but new innovations in cosmetic surgery have brought men and women new options, like Ultherapy. This lift will leave you looking younger, more rejuvenated and refreshed.

What Is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is the only FDA-cleared treatment to non-invasively lift the eyebrow, neck and under chin areas. It is also a great option for treating décolletage lines and wrinkles. No needles, no incisions, ever. The procedure works using ultrasound technology (the same, safe technology used to see babies in utero). A specialized device delivers the ultrasound energy deep into the skin at the right depths and right temperature to spur your tissue into action. This energy elicits a natural response under the skin that boosts the regenerative process and stimulates collagen production.

Treatment is done in our offices. We’ll cleanse your skin and identify treatment areas. Then ultrasound gel is applied and the treatment applicator is placed against the skin. We’ll be able to see what is going on deep inside of your skin using ultrasound imaging. When we’re in position, focused ultrasound energy is applied. You’ll feel the energy as it is applied and you’ll know the treatment is working. Comfort levels vary, but the sensation only lasts during the active phase of the treatment. Face and neck treatments take just over an hour while a chest treatment takes about 30 minutes.

What’s Recovery Like After Ultherapy?

After your treatment you can return to your regular activities immediately with no restrictions. You may have red, flushed skin at first, but this typically disappears in a couple of hours. You may also experience a bit of tingling, tenderness, numbness, or swelling.

Can Ultherapy Replace a Facelift?

Like a facelift, Ultherapy lifts sagging skin, but this procedure cannot duplicate the results of a facelift in patients with advanced aging. It is however, a great option for those that aren’t ready for a facelift or for patients that want to extend the results of their facelift. It isn’t a replacement, but instead another great option for keeping your face looking its best.
